Get Connected at Bay!
Here are some tools that were discovered (or rediscovered) while at the MACUL UP conference last Friday. The keynote speaker, Leslie Fisher, shared a ton of great resources. She has a lot of them posted on her website as well. If you have any questions or are interested in learning more, contact Edie.
It was another good week for our OER degree pathway - Nanci Love's "Theater Appreciation" course was approved by Lumen! That brings our credit count to 39, with 12 courses currently certified through Lumen. We have 10 credits pending, so that brings us within 11 credits of having our Associate of Arts degree pathway!
Will you be teaching online for Bay College? Be sure to sign up for the Online Teaching Certification Course being offered starting May 15! It is completely online and delivered via Blackboard. Sign up to take part using the button below!
I wanted to share this great conference that is coming up on May 5 in Kingsford. I know that is *kind of* a busy week for instructors, but if you do have the time and energy, they have a great lineup of presenters this year. I'm planning to attend, so if you can't make it and a session looks interesting to you, let me know and I can plan to pop into that session or contact the presenter to get more information for you. Achieving the Dream
We hosted a Goosechase and it was awesome! We had about 50 participants take part in 40 different challenges focused on Open Educational Resources and Creative Commons. We've heard from several people that the students really learned a lot from the game and have even spoken to their classes about using OER! That's pretty amazing! Our top two finishers actually completed all 40 challenges - and some of them were HARD! If you didn't get a chance to play, you really missed out on a great time! Check out some of the awesome submissions we received! (All images were published publicly with CC-BY Licensing.)
Monday - Friday 8:30am -5pm EST
74 credits certified!
23 courses certified!
Bay was awarded a grant through Achieving the Dream to develop a 100% OER degree pathway!
